Announcements week of Nov. 27

First Sunday of Advent

Events

*Don’t forget SING ALONG MESSIAH is this Sunday afternoon, November 27 at 2.00 in the church! Come to sing, or just listen. This is a wonderful way to start the season of Advent.

*The Guild will be having a Christmas Bake Table at the FIRE HALL on Saturday, December 3 as part of the Christmas market. The sale runs from 10:00 – 4:00. We are hoping that members of the congregation can help us by baking, making preserves, making candy or giving us a donation. The Guild has several projects to do in our church and everything counts. Items should be brought into the CHURCH Hall on Friday, December 2 from 10:00 – 3:00.

Also, Judy is taking orders for her delicious Tourtières (traditional Acadian meat pies) for the Guild Bake Sale. She will deliver them, rather than leave them all day in the Fire Hall. Delivery will be the week after the sale. She will be making up to 5 pies. Cost is $10 /pie.

*Stocking Stuffer Ticket Raffle will be the final initiative of the year to reach our overall goal of raising $2,500.00 for the year of 2022. Previously we held a Spring Sing-along, the Quilt Exhibit and our annual Yard Sale. We just need to raise around $500.00 more to meet this objective.

Prizes for the Stocking Stuffer Raffle are:

1. A night’s accommodation for 2 at the Queen Anne Inn in 2023

and

2. 10 lbs. of lobster to be delivered or picked up on Dec. 23, 2022.

Ticket prices are 1 ticket for $ 2.00, 3 tickets for $5.00, or 10 tickets for $7.00. See Rev. Nita for tickets, we need everyone to be a seller. Draw will be on Dec. 23, at 3 p.m.

Meetings

*A special meeting of Parish Council to discuss the finances of the parish concerning sustainability will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the home of Brenda Nimmo, 3128 Granville Road, Karsdale. This discussion is open to all parishioners who wish to attend. Topics for discussion will be wide and varied and may include such topics as the possibilities of part-time ministry, worship in the hall, sale of the rectory, etc.
