Sunday, April 19 at 3:00 PM – Classical Concerts presents The Blackwood Duo. Peter Togni (piano) and Jeff Reilly (bass clarinet) will present a program that is “Mystical, dark and full of heart”. Peter Togni is well known to CBC listeners as the host of several programs. As a composer, pianist and organist, his music is “spiritually rooted and contemplative, ranging from the ethereally quiet to the explosive outer limits of contemplation”. Jeff Reilly is a composer, conductor, improvisor, and producer and has been nominated for two Juno awards. An exciting concert, to be sure! Admission is by donation.

Friday April 24: "Sacred, Secular and Silly XVIII" is a fund-raising concert sponsored by the Annapolis Valley Centre RCCO (Royal Canadian College of Organists) featuring performances by singers and instrumentalists from the Annapolis Valley at the Dawn Oman Art Gallery, 298 Granville St., Bridgetown. A free-will offering will be taken to support the Centre's Organ Scholarship Fund.

Voting open for Trinity Anglican Church in Digby to compete in Canada’s National Trust’s Next Great Save Competition. The National Trust holds this nation-wide competition, which aims to help to protect cherished heritage spaces. Trinity Anglican’s project, (please see their website for details: nationaltrustcanada.ca/what-you-can-do/nextgreatsave). Twelve groups from all over Canada are competing to win $65,000 worth of prizes. Trinity Anglican’s project, “Save Trinity’s Rose Window,” hopes to win the top prize of $50,000 for the church’s south wall, which houses the Rose Window and three other stained glass panels, is significantly degraded, and is in urgent need of restoration. To win the competition, they must gain the greatest number of votes during the voting period of April 7 to 24. To vote, go to tinyurl.com/DigbyTrinityChurch
